The successful candidate:
The Surgical Technician will facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
·Ensure the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
·Properly handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
·Ensures quality patient care at all times during the operative procedure and maintenance of the sterile field.
·Acts as a consultant to the healthcare profession, patient or caregiver regarding patient advocacy and delivery of safe, competent, and quality perioperative care.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirements
·High School Diploma or equivalent
·Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist training program
Minimum Experience
·Participation in continuing education programs
·2 years surgical tech experience preferred.
Required Certification/Licensure
·Certification eligible
·BLS Certified
